Real estate was my way out and also my way in.

I got my real estate license in 2014 as a single mom with, honestly, few options at the time. I had stepped away from a budding career as the director of an environmental nonprofit organization to stay home and care for my children. When my marriage ended, I found myself trying to reenter the workforce after several years away. To say my options were limited would be an understatement. Anyone who has left the workforce for an extended period will understand that predicament.

I spent a year working for a nonprofit and quickly realized there was limited room for growth and even less opportunity to build the financial stability I needed. As meaningful as the work was, I needed better options for myself and my kids. The Realtor who helped me buy my first multifamily property on my own encouraged me to consider getting my real estate license. I took the leap, and I’m grateful every day that I ventured down this winding path.

Real estate has given me a career I genuinely love and the opportunity to help hundreds of families find homes and investment properties. It also led me to become a real estate investor myself and to help others, especially women, feel more confident building real estate portfolios of their own.

Because I know firsthand how much a property can change the direction of someone’s life, I don’t see real estate as simply buying or selling a house. It can mean finding a place that truly feels like home, creating greater financial security, or laying the foundation for whatever comes next. Often, it’s a little bit of all three.

As a bonus, I get to spend my time exploring the nooks and crannies of Rhode Island with locals and people considering calling it home. I’ve fully integrated into the food culture and, depending on your mood, budget, and general level of adventure, I will gladly tell you where to eat, shop, listen to music, or wander around for an afternoon. I get a tremendous amount of joy from connecting people with my favorite places and people throughout Rhode Island.

I love connecting with people through real estate, but those connections go well beyond houses. They’re also about food, music, local lore, and knowing a guy who knows a guy--truly the Rhode Island way of life! My real passion is bringing people, places, and resources together, and I’m thrilled that real estate is the avenue that allows me to do it.
